Blog2014 ≫ Night of the arduino

As Clare was out with work last night I did a bit of arduino experimenting. Did not make much progress though, just took my robot butler project back a step. Before christmas it was posting things to the twitter, but twitter just changed their API to tighten up security, and the arduino doesn't have enough memory to play like that. So I'm going back to my previous method of posting info from the arduino to my own webserver (could be the raspberry pi, though right now it is a real server out there, the same one this blog is on) and then having that do what it needs.

There's no need to be posting to twitter, it's just a handy visible way of saying "hey that worked, a thing happened".

I might try and present some of my home automation madness at work this week. Maybe. I hate presenting.

arduino: Microcontroller, hardware prototyping platform, a tiny specialised computer.

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
