That new development in Seabrook now has a name - Olivia Court -- and there are to be 22 2 bedroom apartments. Luxury, natch. I suppose the rule saying "you have to have this much social housing" is still suspended.
Limited progress on the new development at the end of Alexandra Corniche, it looks like a giant multi layered trench at the moment. It has not been flatted out which is suprising, so perhaps the properties there will be on two levels (some higher than others, rather than each property having stairs). I feel I should get out there and take some before and after pictures.
In other sort of related news, someone has moved the floodlights that were pointed at the giant earth moving equipment on the beach. Instead of pointing down they seem to be pointed directly at our bedroom window now. Really lights up our house.
⬅️ Productive weekend :: ANOTHER suspicious death in Gordon Road, Fareham? ➡️
This is my website The 'Gerald that I set up in a fury of excitement when I first came here in approximately '04. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while before that so I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get nowadays. The site was a lot more dynamic with a gig calendar + voting for best venues and things, and I know it was a useful reference for those who were moving to the area. Now Iʼve moved out of Folkestone again (though only a couple of miles) it doesnʼt get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as The town is becoming the exciting place we always thought it was just about to. My name is not Gerald by the way, this comes from the name of a pretend paper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great arenʼt they? Do contact me if you have anything to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
