Blog2014 ≫ Jobs

Got a day to myself today, so got to try and do something useful. Clare has taken Number one son and number two son shopping in Ashford - much as I love them, hmm, it is Ashford, I'd rather not be there. So I have a big list of jobs to do in penance.

First, just bought another Jellycat lamb1. number two son has got very attached to Number one son's favourite soft toy he's had since he was a baby, so hoping just buying another one will sort it out. I'm sure they'll both know one is an incomer and reject it. Also we have the issue of naming the new one, the old one is just called "Lamb". Here is Lamb:

Next, bought some brown tailed moths. I think that's what I've done anyway, I have had a bill kicking around for a few weeks, an extra payment from the managing agents of the estate. I paid it, was waiting for pay day. Hope I've not contributed to killing some little beasts or anything.

Next, keep ripping DVDs. Hey it is a worthwhile job! Tricky one this, ripping four series1 of Jeeves and Wooster. I've not really kept an eye on the filenames as they've gone in, the discs all seem to be named JANDW, so I'm having to watch each one and try and work out its episode number so i can name the files right so XBMC can do its magic. Now, you try working out which episode is which only from the descriptions. They're all the same, the same things happen in every one of the twenty four episodes1! "Bertie accidentally gets engaged and has to avoid his aunt but Jeeves sorts it out" oh which one could that be...

Also doing real jobs, going to fit a security light for someone, then some shopping and some cleaning. And no sitting in front of the computer oh no, I must have dictated this or something while I was on the move...

xbmc: XBox Media Centre, some code that would run on an old X-box or other computer hardware to play movies and music ect ect. I used to talk about this a lot...
