Blog2014 ≫ Reinstating Folkestone East

This sounds great1

Shepway Green Party has launched a campaign to reinstate Folkestone East station, as a major step for regenerating this part of the town. We are also calling for protection of non-Highspeed services, including from Sandling and Westenhanger stations with, as a minimum, a split of the next franchise to separate HS1 from other services to create competition.

So when are they going to reinstate Seabrook station? OK so the actual train lines are long gone. There used to be a lot more stations round here, there was a tram line or something running down from Folkestone to Sandgate, and a train line from here up to Sandling.
