Google just bought nest.com1. I love the look of their thermostat, not quite so sure about their networked smoke alarm... I know I made my own but I have real smoke alarms too. Anyway now the google are involved this stuff is getting serious.

Maybe I'm wrong about their smoke alarms. It does have a CO2 monitor built in, and you can get them in B&Q now2 so they must be up to British safety code...
