Blog2013 ≫ The Florence Arms

On our big weekend out our hotel The Florence House Hotel was right opposite a pub The Florence Arms - would have been runde tot to go in, so I waited in there with a pint while Clare got ready to head out for the evening. Looks to be newly refurbished (here is some history1 and some more2 from 2012). And seemed nice enough but very quiet when we went in - real ale, comfy chairs, pool table but no people. Then suddenly it burst into life. It's a surprisingly big place with multiple rooms. Quite a choice of ales and cider though my first choice the Rosie's Pig cloudy cider was not nice - possibly that is how it's meant to be, but I'm not sure.

Anyway nice enough pub, I would be happy if it was my local.

Writing this on my Friday back at work, strange does not feel like a Friday nor like it's only a week since our big weekend out. Spent most of the day in a "dev session" brainstorming ideas for some work we're doing in the new year. Looking forward to starting my weekend.
