Blog2013 ≫ Home automated dinner fail

I automated our dinner again this week, but it failed on me, doh! We were meant to have cassoulet yesterday for dinner (well a pasty vegan version with vege sausages, not really like a cassoulet at all) and did my usual trick of loading up the slow cooker the night before, plugging it into the lightwaverf socket and then popping a calendar event in to turn it on. BUT, I spelled "Kitchen" with a capital K, instead of a small k, so my code1 did not pick up the event, and so the dinner wasn't turned on in time... Not sure how to fix that one, I think forcing all of the events / rooms / devices to lower case might have some knock on effects for other people who are using the code. I know some people have set up their room names with capital letters and some have not. I guess it should alert somehow that it found an invalid event.

So we have cassoulet for tea tonight anyway. Hope it is good.
