Blog2013 ≫ Raspberry Pi cobbler

Possibly getting one of these1 tomorrow. It's got to be a better idea than trying to solder things directly on to the raspberry pi... It's three quid, and they've got them in stock at the local Maplin2. I have had a try with the slice of pi/o breakout board, but it's too complex for me and doesn't seem to do the simple job I want of providing easy access to the gpio pins. I can do most of what I want with the software, I just want a friendly way of connecting things. So hopefully the cobbler1 will do the job. If not it's only three quid wasted. And I've already saved that three quid I think by not drinking tonight or last night, in fact I'm about ten pounds up so far by my calculations...

Tonight was not a complete waste, I have also re-registered us on the electoral roll, so we're ready to vote again when we get the call...

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
