Blog2013 ≫ IKEA hack idea

I got an idea, I'm going to get one of these kitchen worktops and use it for a sideboard type thing in our playroom / garage conversion. We have a row of these Trofast storage units with big plastic drawers full of toys, and I think we need something to tie them all together. A worktop on top of them all that is also fixed to the wall will be just the job.

I think this counts as an IKEA hack.

Tired today, number two woke us up at about a quarter to four, not good at all. Also having some home automation nightmares, the power to the TV in our room keeps turning itself on and off sporadically. It's not too bad as the TV comes on in standby mode, so there is no sudden blaring noise in the middle of the night, but it's not ideal. It's not someone leaning on the remote, and it is probably not hackers outside the house taking control of the systems (yeah we watched By Any Means yesterday). I think it is the battery in the remote going, that is my last thing to try.
