Blog2013 ≫ Got the new TV

This TV1 is now in and installed, and working fine. The old plasma is now down in the study, though unplugged and facing the wall, like the naughty boy it is. The new TV has solved the no sync signal error that we've been having for ages on the old one, which is good. It's also higher res than the old one (proper 1080p hd, whereas the old one was only 1080i). It's also bigger, being a 50'' instead of the old 42''. The only negative thing is that it's not very exciting. It doesn't really seem any bigger or better quality than the old one (as broadcast HD is only 1080i anyway). I deliberately chose a cheaper model, because I didn't want to pay extra for any gimmicks that we would soon stop using, but maybe those gimmicks add to the interest and excitement of getting a new device.

Ah well it has done the job, we can watch TV at the click of a button now without ten minutes of swearing and turning everything off at the wall trying to get them to connect again.

I still have to set it up on the universal remote, and then the next thing to do is probably replace the old surround sound too. It is starting to crackle and mess about.
