Just looking at some old blog posts where I was talking about my number of steps on my pedometer every day. Been back walking most days again recently, and today I have done 15,000 steps, pretty good! 10,000 counts as an active day, and I've done a few of those this week.
I'm not sure I'm ready to ride my bike into work yet though. I have worked out the best way, and it involves riding up Hospital Hill right at the start, and then wobbling up and down the A20 the rest of the way. I tried the Hospital Hill part today, and it nearly killed me. I got up to the top OK but then when I tried to cross the road at the top I couldn't move my legs properly. Then I bounced my way back down via the footpath and Sandy Lane and it was really quite off-road. I'm in the mind of a Land Rover but the body of a Ford Fiesta still. When I got home I struggled to walk up the stairs, and remember I had only done approximately 5% of the journey to walk (albeit the hilliest bit). I need a bit more practice.
I did recover after this, and we walked into Hythe next, was very pleasant, another hot day, this heatwave is lasting.
