The Vehicle Pi is a Raspberry Pi shield that allows implementation of in-vehicle applications such as telemetry, vehicle monitoring, tracking or transmitting information from the vehicle ECU. The device is specially designed to curb the power surges and provide steady and safe power supply to the Raspberry Pi board. The automatically re-chargeable 2000 mAh battery on-board provides enough juice for several hours of operation. Normally, the battery will be needed only to send information to the data center when the vehicle ignition key is put to OFF position.
