I walked into Hythe yesterday, trying to offset the whole tube of Pringles that I managed to eat on Friday night after coming back from the cricket. Of course, yes, we do actually live in Hythe, but because of a trick in the space time continuum this is a walk along the canal of about 2km. Was a nice walk, was a very hot day, but that's not the point. The point is when I got there, and after we'd been to the library and the park, we saw Paul Merton and a lady in Waitrose. He was wearing a "don't look at me" hat and a colourful blazer. I'm not sure if these means he has joined the growing ranks of our local celebrities, or he was just passing through.
UPDATE: If only I hadn't deleted the original picture I could have speculated further on whether he was wearing the same ludicrous jacket as when I saw him ten years ago. I bet it was.
See how I have mellowed in my own tastes, back then it was a "ludicrous" jacket now it is merely "colourful".
