Today I did a hack at work, this is our version of the google's 20% time, where we get to choose something to work on. It's a little more restricted than that, I did not invent gmail or anything, but I did knock 10k of the size of every page we serve up. Go me, I should try and put a value on that.
Also to follow up on this week's windsurfing, next Friday I am going to watch cricket in Canterbury. I'm like a one man sports channel right now.
10k: Ten km, about six miles in old money. Sometimes talking about 10,000 steps though, an arbitrary daily step-count target.
