I've written a new thing where I can blog from the command line, mostly because my authentication on my website is borked. This is the first post trying this technique so I hope it works. What I do is type:
[blog](/wiki/#blog) Testing [blogging](/wiki/#blog) from the command line
which then opens my editor where I can write the body (this bit you are reading now), which saves the file, scps it to the server 1, then runs a command on the server to load that file into the database. This has taken me all lunchtime to figure out. I did not bring any food in today but was planning to go for a walk. That's out of the window now.I can also edit old blog posts with
[blog](/wiki/#blog) 22128
to edit the blog post with id 22128... I do everything on the command line where possible so it makes sense to do this too, hopefully it will encourage me to write more.Hopefully I'll fix the authentication so I can still use the web if I want to and [reply]you can post a comment too[/reply]...
UPDATE: and it worked!
