A new release 1 from beagleboard.org 2, Beaglebone Black 1 a $45 computer that features the best of both Arduino and Raspberry Pi but seems to outspec them both so far... Discussion on Hacker News says the hdmi output is not good though which is odd as I think it is on the raspberry pi.
I have put too much on my raspberry pi right now, it's crashing all the time. All was fine until I put the motion detector on it, so I'll have to uninstall that I think. Might run it on another computer. I'm keen on the idea for home security so maybe I'll have a dedicated device just for recording images and video.
arduino: Microcontroller, hardware prototyping platform, a tiny specialised computer.
raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
