Blog2013 ≫ Arduino sms sender (and chickenpox)

Things one officially has chickenpox, he's covered in spots. He's quite happy about it though, they're not even itching. Thing two is all clear so far, but had a terrible night last night, which is not like him. He wouldn't take his 10.30 feed from me and started shouting, and then he was up again just after five.

Made great progress on my robot butler. Maybe I'm off on a bit of a tangent but I made it send me a text last night, triggered by the magnetic door contact connected to the Arduino. Quite pleased with this. The code is here1 if you are interested. I will find a practical use for this one day I'm sure!

Maybe next stop have it send me a twitter instead, as I'm going to pay 5p per text when my free trial is up and the twitter will be free...
