Blog2013 ≫ Aargh broke my SD card!

I seem to spend most evenings rebuilding my raspberry pi memory card, getting "disk" errors and having to put the operating system and things back on. I started making backups at key points, but think I must have introduced an error during the biggest slowest stage of installing nodejs. So yesterday I started again anew, and got a couple of spare SD cards ready to put backups on ready to "hot switch". And then this morning, after building the first card but before backing up to computer or any other cards, the card broke! A bit has physically snapped off the case of the SD card and now the computer won't read it. They're dead cheap, but it's just the latest in a long line of strife.

This time must surely be it though. I have a new card with the OS on now, so just to set it up with my wifi, install all the goodies I want tonight (including ruby, lightwaverf, nodejs, iw, hostapd, motion) and my own code1 and THEN make backups again...

Can't believe Emma is saying last night's Justin Timberlake gig was the best gig ever...

Node: Js (programming language of the internets) on the server side.

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
