Blog2012 ≫ Nice christmas meal at The Compasses Inn, Crundale

Had our christmas meal yesterday at the compasses inn, crundale. WHERE? Good grief, that places redefines "the arse end of nowhere", it's near Canterbury but absolutely out in the sticks, it doesn't even show up on maps. The pub itself is nice when you get there, it's a 15th century inn and lovely, but the journey there was horrific. The roads are only half made in places.

My food was good, I had wild mushroom risotto for a main, and a Thai broth for a starter. Not very christmassy, but that is what you get for being a vegan.

The pub is run by my old next door neighbours Angela and Phil, but they told me they are packing it in in January to take on a freehold. They can't say where the freehold will be, as the staff at the new place don't know it is up for sale apparently. I look forward to finding out where it is. I hope it's just as nice, but a bit more accessible, otherwise I'm very unlikely to ever see it.
