Not sure if it's a good idea or not but my raspberry pi is now online, running a web server that is accessible externally. Not got anything interesting on there yet, so I'm not publicising the address. It is working and tested, just in time for me to do number two son's eleven-thirty dream feed...
The downside of this is I have been working quite hard when I would normally have been relaxing, drinking, and watching TV!
