Blog2012 ≫ Smashing weekend with mum and dad

They've been visiting, and we went to Deal yesterday for a change. Dad and I took the boy swimming in Tides while Mum and Clare chatted. We had lunch in Pop Up Cafe in Deal, looked new and genuinely like a pop up, was nice enough. Deal looks half nice and half run down, I can't figure out if it's on it's way up or on it's way out. I've only been there a few times. The pub we went to the only time we've ever been "out" there (The Bohemian) seems to have closed down.

We also made full use of having in house babysitters this weekend, and Clare and I headed out. That's not too rude is it, to disappear off out when they come to visit? We did stay in the night before, and they promise they are happy to help out like this. Anyway, we went to The Mayfly in Hawkinge, because I got some pub tokens for my birthday and it's the nearest place to hear that took them. It's a bit more like a Harvester than an actual pub, but they sold beer. It's a Marstons and I thought I was drinking guest ales, but it turns out they're both breweries that are part of the Marstons group; Jennings Crag Rat and Hobgoblin. Both served a bit too cold.

We were both not really into a proper night out, so we went home again at about 9pm. Pathetic.

Dad put a new base on the shed that he had made, and we all had a massive roast dinner today, very nice.
