Blog2012 ≫ Garage conversion day 1

It's finally here, the builder arrived at 8.30 this morning. Still no word from the building inspector, so our builder Steve phoned them... and they had no record of our application! Turns out it was just a mistake their end, and the building inspector is coming out today.

I had more or less cleared the garage, I think I said. Only a huge chest to be moved, which is in the hallway for now, and then the pool table slate. I couldn't move this by myself, but Steve helped me with it this morning. It's been propped over an internal door for the past couple of years, a door we don't need to use. This door is locked, and now I can't find the key to it... so good job that door is staying. I hope I haven't found a loose key one time and just thrown it out...

I was a bit worried after my big day of moving lots of stuff that I'd wake up with a bad back on Monday, but no, all good, I am fitter than I thought.
