Blog2012 ≫ Still too hectic at work

Doing a big project to get access to all of our data a lot faster, by denormalising it and using even more caching. Makes requesting the data much simpler, but editing it and exporting it more complex. I put it live, but did not test the multilingual bits enough, so have had to roll back, bah. This has taken over my whole week.

Spoke to the builder who is going to do our garage conversion this week, he is still on track, in fact would like to start a few days earlier, on our birthday. Birthday is getting very close now.

Baby is all still on track too. Clare has given in her maternity notice.

We have a lot going on this year.

Just ordered a new lead so I can plug my raspberry pi in to the TV at the same time as the sky box, so I can start doing some fun stuff with it. Also got the arduino out again this week, inspired by the copy of Make Magazine. But had to put it away again before I got a chance to do anything.

I have to move this blog away from this hosting company soon too, I bet I leave that to the last minute and have to rush it...

arduino: Microcontroller, hardware prototyping platform, a tiny specialised computer.

raspberry pi: Credit card sized super cheap computer, awesome.
