Blog2012 ≫ Lovely fathers day weekend

I had a fathers day treat yesterday, a trip to K&ESR Beer Festival1 in Tenterden. We checked in before lunch, a compact affair but loads of different beers and ciders to try. I had a half of a cider that I can't remember the name of to start with, something that there was only a very small quantity of so sure to sell out first, and it was great. I also had a taste at this point of a thirty five year old cider - someone had given one of the organisers a bottle of cider that had been hanging around somewhere. They couldn't sell it or anything but let me have a taste, and it was really good - not like cider any more but a bit like the special reserve fortified cider that Biddenden do2. Then we walked in to Tenterden for a lovely lunch at Cafe Rouge, then Clare and the boy shopped and went to the park while I went back to the beer festival for a few hours.

I probably tried six different beers, only one of the ones I wanted to try sold out before I got to it, and only one of those I had was not to my taste, both of those from Old Dairy3. Their "Soft Top" mild sold out, and their jubilee special edition "Diamond Top" was the one I didn't like.

I saw a good bad, Stone Junction4 playing nice stuff and had a slightly drunken chat with them after. Well, at them really.

Today we went to Brockhill Park for lunch and a nice walk around, some pictures:
