Blog2012 ≫ The boy's birthday day out

It was a windy day on the boy's third birthday, we nearly called off our plans because of hurricane type warnings, but in the end we went for it. Car was still in the garage being serviced but luckily Dom had offered to drive us all to Tenterden anyway. We did the first class on the steam train from Tenterden to Bodiham again, different types of carriages though I think. Very nice anyway, nice to be out of the wind especially... then we had lunch in the tea rooms at the castle. We did consider the pub, but I thought the tea rooms would be better for the boy and nephew.

They had a nice run around at the castle, climbing the steps to the top and clambering over ancient stone work. The trebuchet wsa meant to be demonstrated but I guess they cancelled that because of the wind.

Normal class train back, just for a bit of variety, then home. Unfortunately the boy spewed in the car on the way back, I think he did this the last time we took the winding roads back from Tenterden via Romney Marsh sort of way. Luckily this time it as not my car! I did clean it up though, a bit anyway.

Sicking up like this made room for more birthday cake, did you see it, it looked like this:

1 Can't believe my week off is nearly over, where did it go? I have achieved practically nothing, had a nice time though.
