Leas Lift beer festival was good
Went to that beer festival at the Leas Lift last night, and it was small but perfectly formed. Got a free ride in the lift itself, an ancient funicular through being a CAMRA member. Tried a couple of the ales, the Reeve's Ale and the Abigale but neither were that brilliant so I drank all the ciders instead. The best cider, an award winning Bramley / Gala combo sold out pretty quickly, so glad I got in there first. Very strange subtle flavour, like trying to taste the apple by only licking the skin. Does that sound weird? Anyway, good, just a very subtle flavour compared to the fruitiness of all the others. It's on again today, you should go. They're showing the rugby, though we're going round to Dom's to watch it, then I'm heading off to babysit for the friends who babysat for us last night, so they can go to the beer festival tonight.
