I saw The Ramones in 1980 at the Canterbury Odeon. A brilliant gig. I left covered in gob and my ears were ringing for 4 days. I seem to remember that the front row seats also left with us. I still have one of Dee Dee Ramone's guitar plectrums. Take it Dee Dee! 1,2,3,4!

This is my site The 'Gerald that I set up in a fury of excitement when I first moved here in approximately 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a few years before that but I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was a lot more dynamic with a calendar of events + voting for favourite venues and things, and I hear it was a useful reference for those who were thinking of moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is becoming the exciting place we always thought it was just about to. I am not Gerald BTW, the name comes from the name of a fake newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, + how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald.
