Dear All,
Just to remind you that the Town Unearthed Research Group will be meeting this Thursday (9th Dec) at 6.30-8pm at the History Resource Centre at Folkestone Library.
We will be discussing research themes and agreeing groups and questions.
Also, on the following Thursday (16th) the Research group will be holding a Magic Lantern Show of slides from the Winbolt excavation of the villa hosted for us by 'Professor Coulson and his Magic Lantern' ( 6.30-8pm).
This will be preceded by a 'Victorian Christmas' event at the HRC with some festive refreshments and a chance to look at some Victorian items from the Library's collection (5 -6.30pm) All are welcome.

This is my website The FG that I set up in a fury of excitement when I first came here sometime in 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that so I am technically one of those DFLs you get now. This site was updated more frequently with a calendar of events and voting for favourite places + things, + I hear it was a useful reference for others who were moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was about to become. My name is not Gerald BTW, the name comes from the name of a pretend paper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, + how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald.
