Blog2009 ≫ Seven bird roast, vegan style

Pictures of my christmas dinner, possibly.

Had the idea to have one of those gooducken1 / multi bird roast2 type things for christmas dinner. But vegan stylee obviously. Starting with a garlic:

Then BUTCHERED a sprout to get the garlic inside. Sticking with raw veg at this point.

Then carved a potato, and then steamed it, but still had to trim more of the sprout to get it inside the potato.

I carved the turnip before steaming it, might have been easier the other way round, but carving the turnip like a pumpkin was one of the thoughts that started this off. Steamed it next, and then stuffed the potato, sprout, and garlic inside.

Next a pepper, easy, sensible, traditional vegetable stuffing.

So easy I couldn't resist doing another. That and having a big economy bag peppers with no greens in, yay.

Now I started running out of veg, so the aubergine doesn't quite fit round it all. I'm off out now to get a swede and a pumpkin...

I should have planned it out better and gone further with more carefully selected vegetables, but still not bad for a first go. I'm having linda mcsausages wrapped in vege bacon to go along with this so it'll be filling and interesting enough.

I stuffed a pepper with all the leftover bits mashed up bubble and squeak style and made some chips to go with it, was possibly nicer than the multi roast is actually going to be...
