The Leas Club is meant to be closing at some point, it's to be redeveloped as flats and maybe a gym? Jolsons is a sort of a club bar, is it called the Party Bar now? Is it even still open? I haven't been there for years either! Wetherspoons is still the same, a big pub like all wetherspoons. Chambers is the place to go I think, it's a mix of old style pub and nice bar and restaurant and all sorts, something for everyone. Went in The View at the weekend (top of Rememberance Hill), that seemed to be good again, not so full of the wrong sort as it was when I went previously. Might have been just to do with the music event going on. The Guildhall and The British Lion are also nice traditional boozers and there are some down at the Harbour too. Not keen on The Harbour itself, they can all be a bit iffy round there at times...

Let me know how you get on!

This is part of my site The 'Gerald that I set up in a fury of excitement when I first came to Folkestone sometime in '04. I'd been a frequent visitor for a few years previous to that but I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get nowadays. The site used to be updated more frequently with a calendar of events and voting for best venues and things, and I know it was a handy reference for those who were thinking of moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is becoming the exciting place we always thought it was just about to. My name is not Gerald BTW, the name comes from the name of a pretend newspaper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are GRATE aren't they? Do contact me if you have anything to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
