The building is the centrepiece of the city's arts-led regeneration programme spearheaded by client The Creative Foundation. The 1550 sqm includes a 220 seat, 500 standing multi-purpose auditorium for music, dance, theatre, film performances and conferences; ground floor foyer and exhibition space; first floor cafe / bar and a top floor business centre for start-ups in the creative industries.
They even make Tontine Street look quite vibrant in the pictures too!

This is my site The Folkestone Gerald that I built in a fury of excitement when I first came here in approximately 2004. I had been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that but I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get now. This site was updated more frequently with a calendar of events + voting for favourite places + things, + I know it was a useful reference for others who were moving to the area. Now Iʼve moved out of Folkestone again (though only to Hythe) it doesnʼt get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was just about to. My name is not Gerald BTW, the name comes from a pretend paper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, + how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great arenʼt they? Do get in touch if you have anything to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
