The bad news, The Fox Willesborough was firmly closed when visited in June and the Gate 28 in Sandgate, which closed in February, is to become a pizza restaurant. Whilst the Pullman Folkestone and the Captain Howey in New Romney both have notices "closed until further notice" in their windows, more information would be appreciated. The Railway Bell, Folkestone is closed to be turned into a Tesco Express.
I see they also have a database driven map now, competition eh?
This is part of my site The FG that I built in a fever of excitement when we first moved here sometime in 2004. I had been a frequent visitor for a few years previous to that so I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get nowadays. This site was updated more frequently with a calendar of events and voting for favourite venues and things, + I know it was a useful reference for those who were thinking of moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only to Hythe) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was just about to. My name is not Gerald BTW, this comes from a fake newspaper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald.
