Slight repost from the blog, but didn't we look nice on The Culture Show last night?
An aside, Vic Reeves said on the show last night that he lived in Folkestone for two years, in a flat overlooking the sea. Some misspeaking there I think, I believe he lived in the huge house opposite our flat on Earls Avenue. He would know better than I, but can you back up my beliefs with FACT?
See last night's Culture Show on BBC iPlayer.
⬅️ They HEART Folkestone, I HEART Folkestone :: Knowledge is hassle ➡️
This is part of my site The 'Gerald that I set up in a fury of excitement when we first moved here in approximately 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while before that but I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was a lot more dynamic with a calendar of events and voting for favourite venues + things, and I know it was a useful reference for those who were moving here. Now Iʼve moved out of Folkestone again (though just to Hythe) it doesnʼt get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is becoming the exciting place we knew it was about to become. My name is not Gerald by the way, the name comes from a fake newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great arenʼt they? Do get in touch if you have anything to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
