Bullet train does London to Ashford in 32 minutes

FG ≫ 2008 ≫ Bullet train does London to Ashford in 32 minutes

rail news has the details1, that's nice, but when you think about it that's not really all that impressive - the current trains could do it in not much more than that if they didn't stop at all the stations in between. Still, looking forward to it, how long can it take us to get from Folkestone to Ashford on the high speed rail link? Not half an hour, we'll be under that magical hour barrier to London before you know it. High paid city jobs, here we come!

What? Of course I'm a subscriber to rail news2...

This is my website The FG that I set up in a fury of excitement when I first came to Folkestone sometime in '04. I had been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that but I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was updated more frequently with a calendar of events + voting for favourite places + things, and I know it was a useful resource for others who were moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was just about to. My name is not Gerald by the way, the name comes from the name of a pretend newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are GRATE aren't they? Do contact me if you have anything to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
