What's happening to The Usual Suspects?

FG ≫ 2007 ≫ What's happening to The Usual Suspects?

Long closed bar The Usual Suspects seems to be in the process of renovation / conversion at last:

We do need more good pubs in that area, The Creative Quarter does need a fine landmark defining local, but I'm not convinced that's what it'll become, if it reopens as licensed premises again at all... That whole Old High Street regeneration still does seem a bit slow.

How long before that frontage is defaced with some bad graffiti?

This is part of my website The Folkestone Gerald that I built in a fury of excitement when I first came to Folkestone in approximately 2004. I had been a frequent visitor for a while before that but I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get now. This site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar + voting for favourite places + things, + I hear it was a useful reference for others who were moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only to Hythe) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was just about to. I am not Gerald BTW, this comes from the name of a pretend paper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do contact me if you have anything to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
