⬆️Interactive map of Folkestone

Hi, I was really impressed with your interactive map and they way in which you managed to get it to filter. How easy is it to do something like that and doesn't google complain?! I am actually interested in doing something similar for my site. I hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions...

How is the data inputed for the filtering? Is it done through google (i.e. are the properties able to be found doing the right google map search)? Is the filtering information easy to maintain on mass? For example, if half of those properties were sold, how long would it take to update the map?

I would love to hear how you did it!

This is part of my website The 'Gerald that I set up in a fury of excitement when I first came to Folkestone sometime in '04. I'd been a frequent visitor for a few years previous to that but I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get nowadays. The site used to be updated more frequently with a calendar of events + voting for best venues and things, and I know it was a handy resource for those who were moving to the area. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is becoming the exciting place we always thought it was about to become. My name is not Gerald BTW, this comes from the name of a fake paper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are GRATE aren't they? Do contact me if you have anything to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
