Some cold war bunkers here1, in Folkestone of course, fascinating stuff!

Cold War ROC Bunkers These bunkers were situated a various points around the country and would have been manned by members of the Royal Observation Corps in the 1960s, who would have reported back to the HQ in the event of a nuclear war. The interiors are mainly very similar, with one or two rooms and some are complete with the original contents.

Doesn't look like they've been inside the Folkestone bunker...

This is my site The Folkestone Gerald that I set up in a fury of excitement when we first moved here sometime in '04. I had been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that but I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was updated more frequently with a calendar of events + voting for favourite venues + things, and I know it was a useful resource for those who were moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we always thought it was about to become. I am not Gerald BTW, the name comes from the name of a pretend newspaper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, + how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do get in touch if you have something to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
