Someone sold a postcard here1 of The Radnor Club, for 22 recently. Unfortunately the picture of isn't loading...

RADNOR CLUB, CHRISTCHURCH, FOLKESTONE. KENT

Postally used 1913. Real photo Radnor club, Christchurch, Folkestone, Kent, minor corner creasing. Nice card.

Does that mean "Christchurch Road" do you think? That's where The Happy Frenchman is now, so was that The Radnor Club? Or was it at the end of the road, on the corner, where that building is up for sale right now?

This is my site The Folkestone Gerald that I set up in a fury of excitement when I first came to Folkestone sometime in 2004. I had been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that but I am technically one of those Down From Londons you get nowadays. This site was updated more frequently with a calendar of events + voting for favourite places + things, and I know it was a useful reference for others who were moving here. Now Iʼve moved out of Folkestone again (though just a couple of miles) it doesnʼt get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was just about to. My name is not Gerald by the way, the name comes from a pretend paper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, + how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great arenʼt they? Do get in touch if you have anything to contribute, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
