Costa Coffee1 are moving into Sandgate Road, in the old QS premises. the store opens in September, and they're currently advertising for employees.
So, does this mean Starbucks still is, or they never were, or what? Did the Costa factoid confuse the news (and rumour) mongers?
Here is a picture of QS, so you can remember it as it was (just after it shut down). If you squint you can possibly make out the phone number to call for job opportunities. Do they need a web developer do you think..?
OH YEAH, the British Heart Foundation charity shop in nearby Guildhall Street is also closing, this is a good sign, Guildhall Street is right on the up I feel.

This is part of my site The Folkestone Gerald that I built in a fury of excitement when I first came here in approximately 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that so I am technically one of those DFLs you get now. This site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar + voting for favourite places + things, and I know it was a useful resource for others who were moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though just to Hythe) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as Folkestone itself is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was just about to. My name is not Gerald by the way, the name comes from the name of a pretend paper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, + how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald.
