The Hermitage

FG ≫ 2006 ≫ The Hermitage

I have now been to this restaurant 3 times. The food is cooked but all of it is really smoothered in a sauce of one kind or another. One of my friends that was with me the other day commented that when they cook Sardines in France they just grill them, they don't put sauce all over them. The Chef replied well i like sauces.

This is part of my site The FG that I set up in a fury of excitement when we first moved here in approximately 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a few years before that but I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was a lot more dynamic with a calendar of events and voting for favourite venues and things, + I hear it was a useful reference for those who were moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we always thought it was about to become. My name is not Gerald by the way, this comes from a pretend paper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local paper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do get in touch if you have anything to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
