Blog2005 ≫ Rail workers set date for strike

Workers at South Eastern Trains (SET) are to stage a one-day strike on Monday 5 December in protest at plans to reduce booking office staff, says the BBC, saw this on TV this morning too. This covers Folkestone and is all about not replacing ticket office staff with machines. Ironically Clare went to renew her monthly season ticket at the weekend and the ticket office was shut because of staff shortages. The ticket office is shut every evening so we can't get tickets then, and there's only one window open in the morning with a huge queue so we can't get a ticket then. The sooner they start selling monthly tickets from a machine the better for us. Also our journey in this morning was delayed by half an hour and the other main commuter service was cancelled. Good work!

NICE weekend, though to be fair most weekends are nice. Completely failed to fix Deano's computer, ate a humungous roast dinner, some Angel, some West Wing, and the dreadfully twee Polar Express1.
