So The Quarter is gone then

FG ≫ 2005 ≫ So The Quarter is gone then

Not the actual creative quarter, just the free magazine1, according to a story in this week's Folkestone Herald. The July issue will be the last one. No idea if they will keep the website1 going, or just let it gently expire.

So, if you have a gig or event to promote, you know where to come now! Maybe I should start sending out a newsletter, to fill this gap. Recently found my old fanzines again, but not sure I have the time or energy to be printing stuff out and distributing it, we'll see...

Weekend plans? We're going to Chambers for the first time in AGES.

This is my site The FG that I built in a frenzy of excitement when we first came to Folkestone in approximately 2004. I had been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that so I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. The site was updated more frequently with a gig calendar and voting for favourite places and things, and I know it was a handy resource for those who were thinking of moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only to Hythe) it doesn't get as much attention as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was just about to. I am not Gerald by the way, the name comes from a pretend newspaper in an episode of Brasseye or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are GRATE aren't they? Do get in touch if you have anything to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on the twitter.
