Restored to full health, and wealth, beside the sea

The Telegraph1 does a feature on Folkestone property2... Good work! They say:

For several very good reasons, this town is abuzz. The Channel Tunnel is just up the road, its high-speed rail link to London is being extended into Folkestone's two stations in 2009 and will offer a journey time to St Pancras of just 53 minutes. But better than that, the place has its own billionaire, bent on investing in its future.

This is my site The 'Gerald that I built in a fury of excitement when I first came here in approximately 2004. I'd been a frequent visitor for a while previous to that but I am technically one of those DFLs you get nowadays. This site was updated more frequently with a calendar of events and voting for favourite places + things, + I know it was a useful reference for others who were moving here. Now I've moved out of Folkestone again (though only a couple of miles) it doesn't get as much love as it used to. Ironic really as The town is now becoming the exciting place we knew it was just about to. I am not Gerald BTW, the name comes from the name of a pretend paper in an episode of The Day Today or something, the Portsmouth Gerald, and how there is a local newspaper here called the Folkestone Herald. Puns like this are great aren't they? Do get in touch if you have anything to offer, email anythign @ this domain, or try @folkestone or @pauly on Twitter.
