Google SMS1 (Short Message Service) enables you to easily get precise answers to specialized queries from your mobile phone or device. Send your query as a text message and get phone book listings, dictionary definitions, product prices and more. Just text. No links. No web pages. Simply the answers you're looking to find.

Short message service is it? Thanks for that! Is SMS not huge in the US of States then? Don't think this google services works here yet... I've got a mobile phone now, did I say? Engadget2 says "unlike web searches which are somewhat anonymous, when you use Google SMS Google logs an encrypted version of the incoming phone number, the wireless carrier associated with the number, and the date and time of the transaction". So there you are.
