I think ATOM isn't strictly speaking RSS, but some people have adopted that instead of RSS... Every so often it comes up on popdex.com as a massive blog community issue, it's very dull... my one there is v0.9 I think, I just found something that worked and copied it, seems to be OK, when I don't mess it up... might be that the RSS reader has been updated already to be able to understand the ATOM format, I'll have a look later...
