Two of the biggest rock bands in the world are confirmed to headline this year's Download Festival, winners of Kerrang!'s 2003 Festival Of The Year award. Metallica, who have sold more than 90 million albums, won numerous awards and were the secret guest at Download 2003 are joined as co-headliner this year by Linkin Park one of the most successful of the new breed of rock bands from the US. The two bands toured the US together on Metallica's Summer Sanitarium tour last summer and are both ready to lash up the action at Download 2004 on June 5 & 6 with Linkin Park headlining on 5 June, and Metallica headlining the following day. Further bands and other exciting attractions will be announced soon.
Download also heads to Scotland on 2 & 3 June. The event will be two nights of full-on rock for Scottish rock fans featuring four of the biggest bands per night from the Donington line up. This new departure for Download will be staged at the Glasgow Green and will run through to 10.30pm each day.
