Blog2003 ≫ Welcome to the Cheap Seats

Much drinking yesterday, crawled by the Pint Pot, the Rose and Crown, and the Stoke Tup before our curry at Anglo Asian... wasn't as good as usual, mostly this time because we were sat on the next table to Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff, and he and his chum were quite loud and quite dull, I think I know all the musical anecdotes of the midlands now. Still, it's always quite interesting to see a local celeb. Also, although deep down we know this is what always happens, it was quite upsetting to get our tray of chutneys direct from another table, the waiter carried it over from someone else's table to ours, instead of via the kitchen. There was even a drip of the creamy stuff that we never have in the mango chutney. This took the edge off the rest of the meal, and there was no complementary sherry either. The rest of the food was good, but it took the edge off the experience a bit.

Today we're off to Chafford Hundred, via Tottenham and Barking, yes, the annual pilgrimage to an out of town shopping centre to get Christmas presents... normally we'd head to Bluewater1, but we're trying Lakeside2 for a change...
