Blog2003 ≫ Day two of IPOD fun

Figured out the MusicMatch software it ignores any extra spaces at the end of names, so "Bon Jovi" is the same as "Bon Jovi ", but on the IPOD itself it treats them as two different artists. Not that I have any Bon Jovi. I am regretting ditching all my album name info from the tracks now, thinking that might sort it, there's a whole extra line of info on the IPOD screen that could be put to use here, this would be particulary handy for distinguishing between some of these The Darkness tracks I have, session versions and so on. OOH, also apparently Music Match 8 will let me convert all the protected albums that don't like to be MP3'd. Yes I read the note stuck to the screen when I got it, "don't steal music", but these are albums I've bought...

Actually demoing the new artist management calendar today, and fitting the new design into the new Barfly site, while the designing cow-orker is away. Hmm still getting the annoying

"Can't connect to local [MySQL](/wiki/#mysql) server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)"
Check that mysqld is [running](/wiki/#running) and that the socket: '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' exists!

Just added my 1000th band to popex... it's somehow fitting that it's someone quite weighty: Duran Duran.
