Blog2003 ≫ Sturgeons Tradional Camden Town Bread Pudding

As passed from my friend Neil, originally from Freda Sturgeon:

Soak a bowlful of stale bread over night, squeeze out as much water as possible the next day, and add half a pound of cake fruit, 2 tbs sugar, 1 tbs black treacle (VITAL) and a teaspoon of mixed spice. You can also add gravy browning or caramel (it's pretty much the same thing) to make it darker still.

Then bake on medium heat for half an hour. Voila! Super moist and fruity and dark and spicy.
