PopEx ≫ 2000 ≫ Something for the weekend

It's a big day for popEx...

Exciting gig news for the weekend... scanning the gig listings for this weekend, not only do we see Mel C playing at Shepherds Bush Empire. Dum Dums at the Scala, Toploader in Nottingham and The Mighty Handful doing not one but TWO gigs in the same day in Camden (The Barfly and HQ's), it gets more exciting than that...

Perhaps the most important band to the popEx economy, ABDOUJAPAROV are playing an actual gig, in this country! They are real, I didn't make them up!

They're at the Bull and Gate on Saturday night, with support from I Ludicrous and Bransby.

Sorry to come over all Dominic Mohan for a minute, but me old mate Fruity tells me he is excited about this to be playing London again, after the US and Australian tours, and also about the new EP:

We have made the shareware total for the fourth EP, It's been sent to the pressing plant and we are expecting a late October release.

Also, a band called Radiohead are playing on Glasgow Green (north of London apparently) tonight.
